Cambodia and Cuba have taken a significant step to enhance their tourism collaboration by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This agreement, formalized in Siem Reap province, brings together Cambodian Tourism Minister Huot Hak and Cuba’s Ambassador to Cambodia, Milena Caridad Zaldívar Piedra, as they seek to strengthen ties in the tourism sector.
The MoU lays out a framework for cooperation between the tourism authorities of both countries. It is designed to foster tourism development, promote the exchange of knowledge and expertise, and extend Cambodia’s tourism appeal to Latin American markets. These efforts are built on principles of equality and mutual benefit, aiming to create new opportunities in tourism cooperation between Cambodia and Cuba.
This development is rooted in a history of longstanding diplomatic relations between the two nations, which began in 1960. Over the decades, Cambodia and Cuba have maintained their bilateral ties, with this latest agreement marking a continuation of their collaborative spirit.
